A Little Pink

Prickley Pear:  Thank Heaven (sentiment), Mini Butterflies Die

After a weekend of decluttering and organizing, I'm ready to return to the daily routine!  I love the end result of such a project, but what a mess sometimes!  It needed done.  We've lived here two years now and haven't really felt like we're completely settled because we haven't taken the time to stop and think about how to best organize some of the main rooms!  Granted, we moved here two weeks before DS3 was born and things were a little crazy for a while, but it's time to buckle down and focus on getting things in place around here!  Next up?  The pantry.  Wish us luck...

Since it's Monday, it's time for a Prickley Pear creation.  When I received the sentiment stamp in the mail, I wondered how I was going to use it as most of my stamps and papers revolve around little boys in this household of male dominance!  I do have one niece who I feel a bit sorry for sometimes with all the boys she's surrounded with, so it may come in handy!

Switching gears to pink, I found some girly pink decorative paper and went to work.  I used my mini butterflies die to cut out three butterflies, dry embossed the largest one, added gemstones and adhered them in what I hope is a decent pattern!  I rounded the card corners to soften things a bit and my card was complete!  I keep looking at it, trying to figure out if there is something else I should add, but I think I like the simplicity of it!

Now off to my day!  The sun is shining and it looks like it's going to be a rather warm one!

Be Yourself

Is it Thursday already?!  Time is flying here at our house and I think it might have something to do with school being out for the summer!  We're all adjusting to no bus schedule, no homework, later bedtimes, etc., but I really think we're going to survive!

Today, I'm sharing a card with you that I made a little while ago, but had stashed away and forgotten.  Imagine!

The girl silhouette is from a Close to My Heart stamp set I've had for a long time.  Love it!  This card really says it all.  So many times I look at others and see qualities or talents in them that I'd love to have, but really, I need to be making the most of what I've been given!  When it comes to creativity, I'm finally beginning to realize that, right now, my creative style is clean and simple.  You won't find a lot of extra embellishments on my cards because I love having one focal point that is easy to find, makes an impression and uses a little creativity in design.  At least, I think that's what I see in my creations?!  Perhaps in the months ahead I'll evolve into a different style, but I'm feeling pretty content right now.

Pastels

Spring brings with it a softness (a.k.a. pretty flowers...oh...and mud) and gentleness (a.k.a. rain) that is so appealing after harsh winter weather.  Although, this particular winter was not what I'd call harsh, by any means!

In the spirit of spring, I made a card using soft pastel colors to go along with this week's Stamping Boutique Challenge.  I also used this week's sketch over at Card Patterns.  Remember, there are freebies to be won over at The Stamping Boutique, so be sure to stop over and enter the challenge to qualify!
