CASology LAUGH-ter

3.08.2016

They say laughter is the best medicine.  If you're in need of a little laughter therapy, you'll want to head on over to CASology this week and play along with the newest cue word challenge!

Stamps:  Pink and Main (Old Crow, Oh Snap)

Pink and Main is our sponsor this week and, after looking through some of their adorable stamp sets, an idea formed in my head.  A silly one, I know.  Has ever happened to you?!  I don't expect you to admit it, of course.

After die cutting the stitched main panel, I stamped the cute crow & colored the beak and legs with a Copic marker.  I created the little yellow puddle with watercolors and then stamped the fun sentiment.  The main panel is popped up with foam dots to add a little dimension.

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

Then, don't forget to link up your own creation on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CDT) for your chance to win a prize from Pink and Main, our sponsor this week!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers + My Favorite Things

3.07.2016

I'm back over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today featuring My Favorite Things!

My Favorite Things

With coffee and donuts included in their line up of products in the online store, I decided to use the Die-namics LLD Coffee Cup dies along with the LLD Perk Up stamp set to create today's card!

I used kraft cardstock on most elements of the design to keep the color scheme simple.  The little coffee cup sleeve die cut was run through my crimper to give it a little more texture.  (I'd forgotten I owned that tool!)  I filled the negative die cut space with a red heart die cut for a pop of color.  The assembled coffee cup and middle stitched panel are both popped up with foam dots.

I'm so happy to be back to drinking coffee this morning!  I spent the end of last week with an aversion to the stuff due to a stomach bug that hit our family.  I think I'm finally about caught up with laundry and rearranging my calendar, but a good strong cup of coffee should finish putting things back in their proper places by day's end today!  It's magic, I tell ya!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Taking CASology for a Spin

3.01.2016

It's time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  Time to get those creative wheels spinning and see where this cue takes you!

For me, there seemed to be endless options, but I settled on an old phone!  Remember those old rotary dial ones?!  I used to love spinning the dial as a little girl.  These days, you're lucky to see one anywhere unless you're intentionally searching!

Stamps:  Unity (Neopolitan Bisque Soup)
I stamped the phone first and then stamped it a second time in black so I could fussy cut the dial.  The dial was attached to the phone with a foam dot and embellished with a single clear gemstone.  I stamped the speech bubble and sentiment in black and then fussy cut & attached it to the card base with foam dots.

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers + Mama Elephant

2.29.2016

First, Happy Leap Day!  My boys are pretty excited about this extra day in February!  I'm just happy March begins tomorrow!  That means spring begins this month!

Today over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, Mama Elephant is in the sponsor spotlight!

Mama Elephant

I combined a few of their wonderful stamp sets to create this card:

I die cut the stitched main panel using one of the dies from the Femme Frames die set and then stamped the coffee cup image (Cup of Wishes) & sentiment (Magic Moments) in black ink.  I then stamped and cut out the panda (Pandamonium) before popping it up with foam dots.  The three tiny clear sequins were added last.  I adhered the entire main panel to the card base with foam dots.

Isn't that panda cute?!  DS3 & DD both love pandas, so this set is quite popular in our house right now!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Chocolate Distress

2.23.2016

It's time for a new cue word over at CASology!  This word made me think of heading to the freezer for chocolate ice cream.

Stamps:  Lawn Fawn (Here's the Scoop, On the Mend - sentiment)
Dies:  Lawn Fawn (Stitched Journaling Card)

A damsel in distress...simply needs chocolate.  Don't you agree?!  I have a piece of wall art in my craft room that states, "Chocolate doesn't ask silly questions.  Chocolate understands."  I really think the nutrition officials should just give in and make chocolate a vitamin.  We all know it's a necessary part of life for most of us!  Perhaps my interpretation of the cue word is a little far fetched, but over at CASology we leave interpretation of the cue words wide open!

The ice cream image is colored with Copic markers and a touch of Crystal Effects was added to the hot fudge topping.  The main panel is a Stitched Journaling Card from Lawn Fawn and is popped up with foam dots for a little dimension.

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers + Lil' Inker Designs

2.22.2016

Today, over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, Lil' Inker Designs is in the sponsor spotlight!

 Lil' Inker Designs

I created this card to highlight their Coffee Talk set!

I stamped the coffee cup images & sentiment & then cut the main panel in half diagonally.  I colored one half of the cup with Copic Markers and added a little sparkle with a Wink of Stella brush marker.  I then reassembled the two main panel pieces, by adhering them to a panel that was die cut with one of the dies from the Dual Dotted Squares Dies.

Isn't that sentiment too fun?!  You'll have to agree, life is more colorful with coffee!

Be sure and keep in touch with Lil' Inker Designs on their blog as well as on social media sites because they have an exciting new release coming up on March 1!

Have a marvelous Monday!

CASology Egg-cellence

2.16.2016

Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new cue word over at CASology!  About this time of year, those of us that live in places with cold winters begin wishing spring will arrive early.  I keep listening for the return of spring songbirds, hoping they'll brighten the grey days winter seems to continue to give us!

I discovered I had a nest image in the depths of my stash and used it for my CAS creation.

Stamps:  The Cat's Pajamas (Nesting), Precious Remembrance Shop (heart image - Coffee Love)
Dies:  Mama Elephant (Peek a Frame)

I stamped the nest & sentiment first before die cutting the main panel.  The bird was stamped and fussy cut before being popped up with foam dots.  I added the little red heart, creating a visual triangle between the bird, heart & sentiment.  A touch of sparkle was added to the heart with a Wink of Stella clear brush marker.  The entire main panel was popped up with foam dots to finish off the design.

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!
