Sympathy Simplicity

Better late than never.  That's my motto today.  Spring break has officially begun here in our household and it always seems to take a couple days to adjust to the relaxing of our more rigid routines!  By day's end, the boys were settled in and I'm thinking tomorrow should run a little more smoothly!

I did spend a little time in the craft room today with the boys (...because they asked me to!) and got a few things checked off my to do list that I can't share until next week.  However, I do have a very simple sympathy card I can share today!

I am absolutely loving Paper Trey's Words of Comfort set!  I am always looking for nice sympathy sentiment sets and this one is a winner in my book!  The flowers are from Unity and are a favorite of mine!  I added some clear Stickles to the flower center, but otherwise, this is a wonderfully one-layer card design!

I hope you had a great Monday!  Tomorrow will be an errand day for us...and might even include a little pizza?!

Blooming Simple

The sun is shining, the snow seems to be melting and the weekend forecast isn't looking quite as ugly as previously mentioned.  Life is good.

After seeing this week's Pinterest inspirational photo over on Splitcoast Stampers Clean & Simple Challenge thread, I had to go find the one poppy stamp I knew I owned!  One from Unity!  I also remembered that I haven't played along with the Unity Friends with Flair Blog Hop for a very long time, so will be linking up today's creation over there too!

I wanted to keep things delicate and white, so used a white on white layout and used only black ink.  I stamped off the sentiment to soften its impact on the card, hoping to keep the focal image in the spotlight!  I added three tiny red gemstones for a little interest and color.  So simple, but that's the type of card I prefer!  I'm thinking this will find a home in my rather empty sympathy card stash!

Now I'm off to wash our vehicle, make a library run and soak up some of that glorious sunshine with DS3!

Simply Sorry

So sorry it's been quiet here lately!  Things have just seemed busier than normal on the home front the last week or so!  We had a college graduation reception to attend over the weekend and it was a few hours away, meaning we spent the weekend away from home.  Yesterday was a catch up kind of day with laundry, etc.  You know how it is when you get home from a trip (especially with three children)!  :)

Needless to say, I'm having to dust some cobwebs from my mojo and started out this week with a very simple sympathy card that evolved into two different looks.

I played along with today's Free For All Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.  Because I missed this week's Color Challenge and Sketch Challenge, I decided to try to incorporate those into my card for today also!  I absolutely love the sentiment from SU's Vintage Vogue set!

Sympathy Cards

I find myself procrastinating when it comes to making sympathy cards.  I don't really know why other than that perhaps it's because I never feel like I'm really going to be able to offer the recipient/s the comfort they need.  I have two sympathy cards I need to put in the mail this week, so I was thankful to come across the perfect card to CASE over at Splitcoast Stamper's in Willow01's gallery, this week's Featured Stamper.
This is the card I CASE'd and here is my version of it:
