A CASology Valentine

2.09.2016

The count down is on. Valentine's Day projects are most likely beginning to settle into that last minute panic mode.  I have two elementary aged school children with classroom parties this Friday and do you think I've gotten anything made yet?!  Did you know I am probably one of the world's finest procrastinators?  Don't worry, they'll go to school with cute little gifts in hand!  I have plenty of time...three entire days!

CASology will provide plenty of inspiration this week if you're still in need of some!  With a cue word focusing entirely on valentine, you won't be disappointed!

I love clean & simple valentines!  This word made me think of Cupid and his arrows.  Having no image of that diaper clad lad, I went with a single arrow and a sentiment from Uniko Studio's All Occasion Sentiments #5 set.

The main panel is spritzed with pink Heidi Swapp Color Shine.  I stamped the sentiment in black and then added the glitter adorned arrow.  I added dimension by popping up the framed main panel on the card base.

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

CASology Glitter

2.02.2016

It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week's cue will most likely have you smiling...or muttering under your breath as you try to tame all that sparkle in your craft space.

I went with the chunky stuff myself.  Still a challenge to clean up, however!

Stamps:  DeNami Design (You Make Me Feel, Little Skunk)

With DeNami Design as our sponsor this week, my eyes settled on this cute little skunk and the sentiment just seemed to want to join him, so I dug that out too!  I simply watercolored behind the sentiment to frame it and then added some heart shaped chunky glitter for a little color pop.  These elements were framed with black and the entire main panel was popped up with foam dots for dimension.

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

CASology Adoration

1.26.2016

It's time for some CASology love!  A new cue word is posted and ready to inspire!

I went the obvious route, creating a love themed card.  It is almost Valentine's Day, after all!

Stamps/Dies:  Concord & 9th
I added a little movement to the design by drawing a flight path for the snowflake.  I added dimension to the snowflake by simply layering the dies & adding a heart shaped pearl.  The bold sentiment is from Concord & 9th's Map Love set.

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

Precious Remembrance Shop New Release Blog Hop!

1.18.2016

Today is the day!  Precious Remembrance Shop is releasing it's brand new Sweet Pea stamp set!

You should have arrived here from Lisa's blog, but if not, head on back to her blog to start the hop from the beginning!

I focused on the sweet flowers for my card, using them to create a love themed design.

I stamped all three of the flowers, colored them with Copic markers and then applied Crystal Effects.  While the Crystal Effects was wet, I sprinkled Stampin'Up! Dazzling Diamonds on top of it to create a sparkly effect.  I stamped the sentiment and then the tiny heart image several times and adhered three sequins from the Sweet Pea Sequins Mix to the card base.

You're going to love this set, designed by our very own design team member, Lisa Elton!  Hop along with us through January 21, and you'll have a chance to win the Sweet Pea Stamp set plus the Sweet Pea Sequins Mix (also created by Lisa Elton) to go along with it!  To celebrate this new release, Lisa is having another giveaway on her own blog, so you'll want to be sure and check that out as you hop along!

Here are the giveaway details:
  • Giveaway ends Thursday, January 21, 2016.
  • Leave comments on the Precious Remembrance Shop's blog post as well as each of the design team member's blogs to be eligible to win the prize (mentioned above).
  • One lucky winner will be chosen randomly.
  • To keep updated with our projects, join us on Facebook, Pinterest & Instagram, if you haven't already.
From here, you'll want to head on over to lovely Sue's blog!  Good luck!

Happy Monday!

CASology #180: OPEN

1.12.2016

I almost skipped participating in this week's challenge and it wasn't for lack of ideas, but rather, a lack of energy.  I ended up catching a bug DS2 brought home from school the end of last week!  Ugh.  Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as it could've been, but still knocked me onto the couch for a good 1.5 days!

This week's CASology cue word made me think of windows and how I'd love to be able to throw open my windows for some fresh air, but given the frigid temperatures we have in January, that's not an option.  Oh, how I love the warmer months when I can open the windows and breathe in outdoor goodness!

With Valentine's Day up next, my brain has been slowly turning toward love themed cards and this one is my first of the season!  I love Memory Box dies and this one is a favorite!

Stamps:  Precious Remembrance Shop
Dies:  Memory Box (Resting Birds, Small Madison Window)

CASology Circles

9.22.2015

It's Tuesday again and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This one is another fun one with endless possibilities!

I was originally going to go with a circle frame, bubbles or bokeh, but alas, a last minute light bulb flickered on in this tired brain of mine and produced a globe instead!

I used Whimsy's Travel 2 - Happy Travels set to create this design.  The Earth was stamped in StampinUp's Pacific Point (blue) ink and then I filled in the continents using green Stickles!  I punched it out with a circle punch and popped it up with foam dots for dimension.  So simple!

Be sure and leave the design team & this week's guest designer some blog love!  They'd love to hear from you!

I feel like I've been missing in action and my mojo has been missing somewhat.  On the days I've felt inspired, I haven't had the time to wander down to the craft room!  DD is so busy these days!  Constant supervision for that one, let me tell you!  As a family, we've had something going on for the last five weekends, so that might tell you a little something about my weeks lately!  Looking ahead, I'm crossing my fingers (& toes) that life can slip back into a calmer, steady routine.  One thing that doesn't change much even when the going gets tough is my will to capture life's craziness with my camera.  This should give you a pretty clear picture as to what I'm supervising each & every day...

She's a go-getter, let me tell you...and in that wonderful stage of independence that goes along with the celebration of one's second birthday.  She's a bundle of sweetness and spunk!

Written by CASology

9.01.2015

It's Tuesday & that means it's time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  Time to polish up those writing skills because this week's challenge might just inspire you to send someone a letter (inside your newly made card, of course)!

I started stamping away in my craft room and found myself completely uninspired with anything I started until, finally, inspiration finally struck and I came up with a very, very simple idea.  Thank goodness for simple!

Stamp:  StampinUp!

I simply scored two diagonal lines extending from the corners, stamped a letter seal image, fussy cut and popped it up with a foam dot near where the lines intersect to make the overall design look like an envelope.  So easy!  I may just use this design for future valentines!  Can you imagine just how quickly they would come together?!

Be sure and leave the design team some blog love!  They'd love to hear from you!

Hugs & Kisses

8.13.2015

We're gearing up for a visit from grandparents today in our house.  DH's parents will arrive sometime this evening and stay through the weekend!  They always bring love and lots of fun to wear out the kids (...and the kids will wear them out)!

I've been going through my stash of crafty things, purging and reorganizing.  This has been a rather slow process this summer, but I'm doing a little every week and things are starting to come together in the new craft room.  I'm amazed at how my style has changed over the years and I have quite a pile of things to donate or sell.  Feels so good to be taking an honest look at things and I'm discovering new inspiration in the middle of it all!  I'm looking forward to using all the newfound goodies as autumn nears and my days slow a little (at least, I hope they do...).

I made a card using one of my forgotten stamp sets with grandparents in mind.

This is a sets from Ms. Kimm Creates.  I love her stamp sets (& need to add a few of the newer ones to my updated stash)!  The images & fonts fit my simple style so well!  This particular set is called Death by Chocolate.  I framed the images and sentiment using Lil' Inker's Dual Dotted Squares Dies, a recent favorite of mine.

I typically spend more time with my camera than with my stamps in the summer months, so I'll share an update of the kids.  Hope you don't mind!  While I miss regular stamping and blogging in the warmer months, I don't want to miss the joys of childhood that these four create!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Fish Love

8.11.2015

It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  We're thinking about all things related to water this week!

I went with fish simply because I've had this cute fish themed set in my stash for some time now which has never touched ink!  I used a stencil to sponge the background panel.  The fish were colored with Copic markers and cut out before being popped up along with the heart.  The heart sparkles a little with the help of a Wink of Stella brush marker.

Stamps:  Uniko Studio, Simon Says Stamp

Be sure and leave the design team & our guest designer some blog love!  They'd love to hear from you!
