Chocolate Distress

2.23.2016

It's time for a new cue word over at CASology!  This word made me think of heading to the freezer for chocolate ice cream.

Stamps:  Lawn Fawn (Here's the Scoop, On the Mend - sentiment)
Dies:  Lawn Fawn (Stitched Journaling Card)

A damsel in distress...simply needs chocolate.  Don't you agree?!  I have a piece of wall art in my craft room that states, "Chocolate doesn't ask silly questions.  Chocolate understands."  I really think the nutrition officials should just give in and make chocolate a vitamin.  We all know it's a necessary part of life for most of us!  Perhaps my interpretation of the cue word is a little far fetched, but over at CASology we leave interpretation of the cue words wide open!

The ice cream image is colored with Copic markers and a touch of Crystal Effects was added to the hot fudge topping.  The main panel is a Stitched Journaling Card from Lawn Fawn and is popped up with foam dots for a little dimension.

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

Then, don't forget to link up your own creation on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CST) for your chance to win a prize from Lawn Fawn, our sponsor this week!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers + Lil' Inker Designs

2.22.2016

Today, over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, Lil' Inker Designs is in the sponsor spotlight!

 Lil' Inker Designs

I created this card to highlight their Coffee Talk set!

I stamped the coffee cup images & sentiment & then cut the main panel in half diagonally.  I colored one half of the cup with Copic Markers and added a little sparkle with a Wink of Stella brush marker.  I then reassembled the two main panel pieces, by adhering them to a panel that was die cut with one of the dies from the Dual Dotted Squares Dies.

Isn't that sentiment too fun?!  You'll have to agree, life is more colorful with coffee!

Be sure and keep in touch with Lil' Inker Designs on their blog as well as on social media sites because they have an exciting new release coming up on March 1!

Have a marvelous Monday!

CASology Egg-cellence

2.16.2016

Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new cue word over at CASology!  About this time of year, those of us that live in places with cold winters begin wishing spring will arrive early.  I keep listening for the return of spring songbirds, hoping they'll brighten the grey days winter seems to continue to give us!

I discovered I had a nest image in the depths of my stash and used it for my CAS creation.

Stamps:  The Cat's Pajamas (Nesting), Precious Remembrance Shop (heart image - Coffee Love)
Dies:  Mama Elephant (Peek a Frame)

I stamped the nest & sentiment first before die cutting the main panel.  The bird was stamped and fussy cut before being popped up with foam dots.  I added the little red heart, creating a visual triangle between the bird, heart & sentiment.  A touch of sparkle was added to the heart with a Wink of Stella clear brush marker.  The entire main panel was popped up with foam dots to finish off the design.

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

I stamped the coffee cup and colored it with Copic markers.  The hearts were stamped & colored with Copic markers before being cut out.  I then added a touch of sparkle to the cookies (Think, ginger snaps!) with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker before popping them up with foam dots.  The entire main panel was also popped up with foam dots.
