Coffee Loving Cardmakers + My Favorite Things

3.07.2016

I'm back over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today featuring My Favorite Things!

My Favorite Things

With coffee and donuts included in their line up of products in the online store, I decided to use the Die-namics LLD Coffee Cup dies along with the LLD Perk Up stamp set to create today's card!

I used kraft cardstock on most elements of the design to keep the color scheme simple.  The little coffee cup sleeve die cut was run through my crimper to give it a little more texture.  (I'd forgotten I owned that tool!)  I filled the negative die cut space with a red heart die cut for a pop of color.  The assembled coffee cup and middle stitched panel are both popped up with foam dots.

I'm so happy to be back to drinking coffee this morning!  I spent the end of last week with an aversion to the stuff due to a stomach bug that hit our family.  I think I'm finally about caught up with laundry and rearranging my calendar, but a good strong cup of coffee should finish putting things back in their proper places by day's end today!  It's magic, I tell ya!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers + Mama Elephant

2.29.2016

First, Happy Leap Day!  My boys are pretty excited about this extra day in February!  I'm just happy March begins tomorrow!  That means spring begins this month!

Today over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, Mama Elephant is in the sponsor spotlight!

Mama Elephant

I combined a few of their wonderful stamp sets to create this card:

I die cut the stitched main panel using one of the dies from the Femme Frames die set and then stamped the coffee cup image (Cup of Wishes) & sentiment (Magic Moments) in black ink.  I then stamped and cut out the panda (Pandamonium) before popping it up with foam dots.  The three tiny clear sequins were added last.  I adhered the entire main panel to the card base with foam dots.

Isn't that panda cute?!  DS3 & DD both love pandas, so this set is quite popular in our house right now!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers + Lil' Inker Designs

2.22.2016

Today, over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, Lil' Inker Designs is in the sponsor spotlight!

 Lil' Inker Designs

I created this card to highlight their Coffee Talk set!

I stamped the coffee cup images & sentiment & then cut the main panel in half diagonally.  I colored one half of the cup with Copic Markers and added a little sparkle with a Wink of Stella brush marker.  I then reassembled the two main panel pieces, by adhering them to a panel that was die cut with one of the dies from the Dual Dotted Squares Dies.

Isn't that sentiment too fun?!  You'll have to agree, life is more colorful with coffee!

Be sure and keep in touch with Lil' Inker Designs on their blog as well as on social media sites because they have an exciting new release coming up on March 1!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers + Your Next Stamp

2.15.2016

Today, over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, Your Next Stamp is in the sponsor spotlight!  I created this card to highlight one of their fun stamp sets, Cup of Cheer.

Stamps:  Your Next Stamp (Cup of Cheer)
Dies:  Your Next Stamp (Cup of Cheer Die Set)

I stamped the coffee cup and colored it with Copic markers.  The hearts were stamped & colored with Copic markers before being cut out.  I then added a touch of sparkle to the cookies (Think, ginger snaps!) with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker before popping them up with foam dots.  The entire main panel was also popped up with foam dots.

This fun stamp company is worth a visit!  If you love fun, whimsical images, their products are for you!

Be sure and visit today's post over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog as there are more details there!

Have a marvelous Monday!

I'm showcasing a simple coffee themed card over there, but wanted to share another one here!  Now that February has arrived, I couldn't resist designing a Valentine's Day themed coffee card!

This design is pretty much one layer with some very simple embellishments added for shine.  Pink Heidi Swapp spritz is responsible for the colored background.

Winter/Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

12.11.2015

Are you ready for a blog hop revolving around a warm beverage? Today is the day! The Winter/Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop has begun!  With 49 Super Sponsors on board, there are prizes galor!  In order to be eligible to win, you just need to link up a newly created winter/holiday themed coffee, cocoa or tea project to the main blog!

I've been wanting to ink up my new I Love Coffee set from Uniko Studio, so created a coffee card using kraft cardstock.

Uniko Studio (I Love Coffee)

I stamped and fussy cut the coffee cup, paper piecing the lid using a piece of Shimmery White cardstock (StampinUp!).  I stamped the beautiful flower in red ink before lightly brushing some white Wink of Stella marker over it.  This gave it a bit of a watercolor appearance.  The cup and entire layered main panel are popped up with foam dots for dimension.

I hope to see you over on the hop!  We're hopping through December 18th, so you have some time to get crafting!  All the hop details can be found HERE!

Have a fabulous Friday!

CASology Night OWL in Need of Coffee!

11.24.2015

It's Tuesday and you know that means a brand new cue word is live over at CASology!

If you love critters, this one will have you wanting to play along!  While I do love owls (& so does DD), I didn't take this cue word literally!  When I saw the cue word, it made me think of my tendency to be a night owl...and my need for a good, strong cup of coffee most mornings!  Quite out-of-the-box thinking, I know, but that's the beauty of the CASology cue words!  You can interpret them in whatever way they appeal to you!

Stamps:  Concord & 9th (Let's Chat)
The coffee cup is three separate images in three different colors of ink.  I used a red Wink of Stella brush marker to add red to the white center image and then applied a small layer of clear Stickles.  This is a very simple, one layer card...the kind I like best!

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

In celebration, I went ahead and stirred up a little caffeination related inspiration!  I know I'm stating the obvious with this card, but I thought it appropriate for my first post as an official design team member.

Stamps:  Hero Arts (LOL), Sweet Stamp Shop (Cuppa Coffee)

As you can see, Clean & Simple is my game!  Tomorrow I'm going to be revealing my craft space here on the blog! You'll see "clean & simple" lived out there too!  You might even see a few coffee related items gracing the photos...

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

9.25.2015

 11997128_10207927414131352_1537800349_n

It's time! Today is the beginning of the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! You can find all the nitty gritty details here!  I hope you'll join in all the fun...there are prizes!!!

I used stamps from Precious Remembrance Shop, one of the wonderful sponsors, to create today's card!  Their Coffee Love set is a favorite of mine and the New Day set has a great coffee smudge image that is perfect for a coffee themed card!  That's what I used for this card along with the splatter from the Positive Thoughts set:

Coffee is always there for me!  I want to be there for my family & friends too!  Life is messy sometimes and it always helps to have someone to get you through it!

I'm off to check out a few of the hop entries and then it's off to the park with DD!  These cooler autumn days are calling our name & telling us to enjoy them while they last!  I hope they continue for quite a while yet because I'm not quite ready to think about snow, longer hours of darkness and that feeling of being a little cooped up!  Thank goodness for stamps & coffee!

Have a fabulous Friday & a wonderful weekend!  I'm hoping to get some Halloween photo shoots done!  Wish me luck!

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

3.04.2015

 Print
It's about time I post my card for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  I've had my card made, but life happens.

There are tons of fantastic sponsors again this time around and that means lots of prizes!!!  Have you made your card yet and linked it up?!  You have until Friday, March 6, at 11:55 p.m. to do so!  You can find all the details here!

I used a bright yellow watercolor as a background for my coffee themed card as well as some little pink flower sequins to go along with the spring theme.

I used the adorable new Daily Brew set from Ms. Kimm Creates.  For ink, I used SU's Soft Suede, a color that is becoming a favorite of mine all over again lately.

After I and DS3 fell ill with the good ole "stomach flu" over the past two days, I'm finally feeling more like myself (although, coffee doesn't sound good quite yet!) and ready to tackle life again.  I must admit, I'm feeling a bit OCD when it comes to disinfecting things around the house with bleach water!  This stuff is one of the trickier viruses to get rid of, surviving on surfaces for days rather than hours.  DS3 will be staying home again tomorrow as his appetite isn't quite back to normal yet and I don't want to send him back to school contagious!  Holding my breath for the rest of the family!

I hope you've had a wonderful Wednesday!

National Coffee Day Blog Hop!

9.29.2014

Well, here it is the very end of the day and I'm just now posting a card I'd made over the weekend for today's Coffee Lovers Hop!  And so is life...

I used Sweet Stamp Shop's new coffee stamp set and kept things to the point.  My favorite.

Caffeinated CASology

8.19.2014

It's time for a new cue word challenge over at CASology today!  How about a little caffeine to get your day going?!  I know I don't mind!  I never used to care for coffee, but then I had kids.  End of story.

Here is what I came up with for this week's challenge:

Precious Remembrance is sponsoring us this week and they have the perfect set for the Java challenge!  It's called Coffee Love and guess what?!  They are giving the set to this week's winner, so you are going to want to play along for your chance to win!

Coffee Love Stamp Set

For this design, I decided to tilt both the main image and the sentiment a bit to create a little interest.  I also added a little dimension by popping up the coffee cup after adding a paper pieced lid (also popped up).  The lid is actually pieced in shimmery white cardstock to give it the look of the typical plastic lids on the "to go" cups at coffee shops, but it doesn't show up very well in this photo.

You'll want to visit the rest of the design team member and guest designer blogs to see what they've done with this challenge!

Then, be sure and link up your own JAVA creation on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CDT) for you chance to win!

Today is the first day of school for DS1 & DS2.  Yesterday, we spent a good portion of the day getting last minute school things done and attending orientations for the new school year.  Today, the noise level inside the house is, oh, a good 75% lower.  I'll admit it is quite nice, but I still miss them!  We'll be initiating DS3 into the world of school tomorrow.  I'm curious to see how he does.  He's acted pretty confident so far, but I know when it comes to that first day, little ones can get a little nervous!

Java good day!

Eat, Drink & Try to be Merry

1.22.2013

How's that for a winter motto?!  The eating and drinking are the easy part!  Thankfully, this year, we've had a good number of sunny days and that helps more than ever for the "be merry" part!  We're having a mild winter for the second year in a row and, while I know it's not the best thing for the summer crops, I secretly don't miss the snow that much!

This week over at CASology, we're focusing on the word DRINK and what it brings to mind.

For me, this brings to mind one thing in the middle of winter:  coffee.  I drink my fair share of it, plain with just a little milk added.  Naturally, I made a coffee themed card!

I couldn't resist stamping the sugar cube on some glittered cardstock!  The rest of the card is pretty self explanatory in plain ole black and white!  Thank you, Paper Smooches, for making such adorable stamps!

Be sure and visit the rest of the design team and guest designer blogs for more DRINK inspiration!  Then, be sure to link up your own creation on the challenge blog by Sunday at 4 p.m. (CST)!

Have a terrific Tuesday!
